Innoworks, prides itself on offering you, our client partners, a wide array of benefits. We have yet another one for you to keep in mind. We have partnered with CBIZ, to provide health benefits that are truly affordable ACA-compliant health insurance built on copay plans, not high deductible health plans.
Employers and employees need an alternative to traditional health insurance providers who have lower and moderate-income workers in non-traditional careers (“gig economy” workers, part-timers, seasonal workers, with a separate program also available to 1099s).
In order to satisfy the Part A penalty under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employers with fifty (50) or more full-time equivalent employees (FTEs) must offer Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) to all employees working at least thirty (30) hours per week.
In order to satisfy the Part B penalty, employers with fifty (50) or more full-time equivalent employees (FTEs) must offer health insurance that is considered affordable under the ACA guidelines and provides Minimum Value to 95% of their full-time employees and their children up to age 26 or be subject to penalties. This is known as the employer mandate.
In 2021, the definition of affordable means the employee pays no more than 9.83% of his or her gross income for the employee only coverage of the lowest cost Minimum Value Plan.
